Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
In order to encourage westward expansion, Virginia issued pioneers who agreed to settle in Kentucky County “corn writs,” which granted the pioneers 60 acres of land if they agreed to settle in Kentucky and start farming corn. One year after the defeat of the British, a Baptist minister named Elijah Craig emigrated to Fayette County (today, a part of the State of Kentucky) and purchased 1,000 acres of land in a town named Lebanon. In 1789, Craig built a distillery on his farm and is credited with being the first person to mature bourbon in charred, oak casks, earning him the title “Father of Bourbon Whiskey”
Elijah Craig Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey pays homage to Craig and his unique legacy. The bourbon is bottled from the marriage of fewer than 100 casks of maturing bourbon, each of which is rested in a Kentucky rickhouse for a minimum of a dozen years.
The bourbon has an aroma of honey, sweet corn, vanilla, and brown sugar. The aroma gives way to notes of roasted nuts, creamy vanilla, molasses and tropical fruits on the palate, that are well-balanced by hints of dry oak and cinnamon. The finish is long and sweet and ends with a warming touch.
Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon earned a score of 95 points from Wine Enthusiast, which called the bourbon “mellow” and said that it had the flavor profile of “butterscotch candy.” In addition, Jim Murray, author of the Whisky Bible, named the bourbon the “Best Bourbon Aged 10-12 Years,” and stated that it is “one of my favorite five or six bourbons” in the world.
Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon also earned the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the WSWA Tasting Competition.

Just the right amount of heat. Starts out earthy, a little herby, and slightly fruity. Finishes with a burnt caramel that dances on the tongue. This is my favorite and my go-to bourbon.

I was fully prepared to not buy into the hype, but this is a very good bourbon and a decent value price point. Full-flavored, rich, and easy to drink. I’d like to keep a bottle in my cabinet.

I’m not one to refrigerate my bourbon, preferring a room temperature shot from time to time. The first notes of Noah’s were wonderful. There was a soft heat and the fruity notes were lovely. As time went on and we got closer to the bottom of the bottle, it heated. Harshly. We are not aficionados and perhaps didn’t treat this whiskey quite right, but that last shot was really tough. I might take to refrigerating in the future …

My father in law searches high and low for this (and Blanton’s) each time it comes in stock locally. He very rarely gets his hands on it so I thought I’d try this site out so I can get him some for Christmas. It arrived in a little over a week, and was packaged phenomenally and there were no issues. I can’t wait to gift it to him!

If you can find it at retail grab it right away, buy as many as you can. This is one of my top 5 favorite bourbons. I Save this bottle for special occasions and treat good friends to what a special bourbon should taste like.

Good for booze and better priced than a lot of liquor shops. Good selection too. The only reason they get 4 stars is because their cashiers are always grumpy.

Hard to find this economical deliciousness in Ohio (unless departing on an Allegiant flight) and I’d rather absorb a kick in the jewels than wait in line, in the early hours, on a designated date, at an insidious liquor store that withholds (hides) the vast majority of inventory for their “buddies”. Since I’m not dependent on the juice, I’m happy and willing to wait the 4+ weeks for delivery of this reasonably priced nectar at a REASONABLE price! Thanks, Bourbon Whiskey Distillery!

Let me start by saying this is a good Bourbon for the price But the hype around it, is crazy. Great nose, mild flavor and warm finish. Good to have on the shelf but not Great.

This place is HUGE! They have a massive selection of wines and beers, liquor section is impressive as well. They always have the newest releases as well, so it’s a must-stop even if to just see what they got in. Easy access from the turnpike also.
