Buy Old Forester Kentucky Straight Rye Whisky
In 1870, George Garvin Brown — a young pharmaceuticals salesman from Kentucky — saw the need for a consistently high-quality whiskey that would remain unadulterated after distillation. After saving $5,500, Brown and his brother opened the doors to J.T.S. Brown & Bro.
Distillery and began distilling bourbon. Unlike other distilleries at the time, Brown aged his bourbon, which was named Old Forester, in oak casks and bottled it in a sealed glass bottle to ensure authenticity and quality.
Since its introduction in 1870, Old Forester has been on the market continuously, even during Prohibition, when it continued to be sold for medicinal purposes. It is the only bourbon continuously distilled and marketed by the founding family before, during and after Prohibition.
This historic recipe was acquired in 1940 by Owsley Brown I, Old Forester Rye features a mash bill of 65% Rye, 20% Malted Barley, and 15% Corn. This high proportion of barley yields a natural fermentation process, and a unique floral character, balancing the sharp, brisk spice of the rye grain. At 100 proof, Old Forester Rye plays beautifully in a cocktail but also stands up boldly on its own.

Just the right amount of heat. Starts out earthy, a little herby, and slightly fruity. Finishes with a burnt caramel that dances on the tongue. This is my favorite and my go-to bourbon.

Huge selection of any alcohol, reasonable prices, long opening hours, but not very friendly employees.

This place is HUGE! They have a massive selection of wines and beers, liquor section is impressive as well. They always have the newest releases as well, so it’s a must-stop even if to just see what they got in. Easy access from the turnpike also.

Hard to find this economical deliciousness in Ohio (unless departing on an Allegiant flight) and I’d rather absorb a kick in the jewels than wait in line, in the early hours, on a designated date, at an insidious liquor store that withholds (hides) the vast majority of inventory for their “buddies”. Since I’m not dependent on the juice, I’m happy and willing to wait the 4+ weeks for delivery of this reasonably priced nectar at a REASONABLE price! Thanks, Bourbon Whiskey Distillery!

Very clean Shelf is always fresh. I come here at least once a week and I never was disappointed. They have a bathroom. Just parking is a little bit difficult. Just park on the front! Enjoy!

Let me start by saying this is a good Bourbon for the price But the hype around it, is crazy. Great nose, mild flavor and warm finish. Good to have on the shelf but not Great.

Smoothest affordable bourbon on the market. Can’t go wrong with this purchase.

I’m not one to refrigerate my bourbon, preferring a room temperature shot from time to time. The first notes of Noah’s were wonderful. There was a soft heat and the fruity notes were lovely. As time went on and we got closer to the bottom of the bottle, it heated. Harshly. We are not aficionados and perhaps didn’t treat this whiskey quite right, but that last shot was really tough. I might take to refrigerating in the future …

If you can find it at retail grab it right away, buy as many as you can. This is one of my top 5 favorite bourbons. I Save this bottle for special occasions and treat good friends to what a special bourbon should taste like.
