About O.F.C. Vintage 1995 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. christened the O.F.C. (Old Fashioned Copper) Distillery in 1870, the name soon becoming iconic. The operation was unbelievably advanced for its time with copper fermentation vats, column stills, and a unique steam heating system that Buffalo Trace still uses in their warehouses. This expression pays tribute to the O.F.C. Distillery. Distilled in 1995, the spirit has spent a quarter of a century aging in barrels that yielded a total of 1,500 bottles.

About Buffalo Trace

Located on the Kentucky River in Frankfort, Kentucky, Buffalo Trace Distillery takes its name from an ancient pathway that the migrating buffalo used when traveling westward. The trail was well-known among Native Americans and was eventually used by pioneering settlers who crossed the Ohio River and followed the buffalo trace to the Western frontier.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is the oldest continually operating distillery in the United States and includes the rich legacies of master distillers such as E.H. Taylor, Jr, George T. Stagg, Albert B. Blanton, Orville Schupp, and Elmer T. Lee. Today, the distillery is still family-owned, operating on the same 130 acres of land adjacent to the Kentucky River as it has for over 200 years.

Very clean Shelf is always fresh. I come here at least once a week and I never was disappointed. They have a bathroom. Just parking is a little bit difficult. Just park on the front! Enjoy!

Good for booze and better priced than a lot of liquor shops. Good selection too. The only reason they get 4 stars is because their cashiers are always grumpy.

I’m not one to refrigerate my bourbon, preferring a room temperature shot from time to time. The first notes of Noah’s were wonderful. There was a soft heat and the fruity notes were lovely. As time went on and we got closer to the bottom of the bottle, it heated. Harshly. We are not aficionados and perhaps didn’t treat this whiskey quite right, but that last shot was really tough. I might take to refrigerating in the future …

This place is HUGE! They have a massive selection of wines and beers, liquor section is impressive as well. They always have the newest releases as well, so it’s a must-stop even if to just see what they got in. Easy access from the turnpike also.
