Frida Kahlo Reposado Tequila
Frida Kahlo Tequila is the brainchild of Dorado Pizzorni & Sons. Released in collaboration with the Frida Kahlo Estate, the tequila is named after one of the most famous Mexican artists in the world, who is said to have been a fan of the famous Mexican spirit. Founded in 2005, Dorado Pizzorni & Sons is based out of Florida; they also produce Roberto Cavalli Vodka.Frida Kahlo Tequila is all-natural and produced in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. No artificial ingredients are added to accelerate the fermentation process. Hand-selected at the peak of maturity, the 100% blue Weber agave is slowly roasted over a period of 28 hours inside an antique adobe brick oven, then steamed and cooled to remove any bitterness.
The agave is pressed, extracting only the finest juices for a super-premium tequila. After being naturally fermented for up to four days, the agave juices are then double distilled in antique copper stills.
Frida Kahlo Tequila Reposado is then rested in American oak casks for six to nine months before being bottled at 76 proof. Super smooth, its classic tequila profile makes it versatile as well ― it’s a delicious sipping tequila as well as a great cocktail base.

TASTING NOTES
The nose opens with agave, oak, and spice notes. The palate has cooked agave, a touch of bourbon, honey, and a touch of pepper that lingers through the smooth and oaky finish.

Hard to find this economical deliciousness in Ohio (unless departing on an Allegiant flight) and I’d rather absorb a kick in the jewels than wait in line, in the early hours, on a designated date, at an insidious liquor store that withholds (hides) the vast majority of inventory for their “buddies”. Just the right amount of heat. Starts out earthy, a little herby, and slightly fruity. Finishes with a burnt caramel that dances on the tongue. This is my favorite and my go-to bourbon.

I’m not one to refrigerate my bourbon, preferring a room temperature shot from time to time. The first notes of Noah’s were wonderful. There was a soft heat and the fruity notes were lovely. As time went on and we got closer to the bottom of the bottle, it heated. Harshly. We are not aficionados and perhaps didn’t treat this whiskey quite right, but that last shot was really tough. I might take to refrigerating in the future …

This place is HUGE! They have a massive selection of wines and beers, liquor section is impressive as well. They always have the newest releases as well, so it’s a must-stop even if to just see what they got in. Easy access from the turnpike also.
